Accountabilities:

  • To provide technical support in the safe and efficient repair of company equipment in the following activities:
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair equipment across the company’s product lines including, but not limited to, flame, atmospheric and confetti systems and their supporting components
  • Perform minor repairs on pyro equipment and coordinate manufacturer repair for more in-depth work
  • Maintain spare parts and hardware inventory
  • Ensure the repair area is organized, kept neat, tidy and free from obstructions
  • Assist with testing and staging of outgoing equipment as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair equipment across all product lines, including flame units (canister-based, propane and liquid fuel), CO2/cryo jets, fog and haze machines, confetti and streamer launchers, and their supporting components
  • Diagnose pyro equipment and perform minor repairs such as battery and fuse replacement; document findings and coordinate return to manufacturer for in-depth repairs
  • Prioritize repairs based on immediate operational needs
  • Document findings on the Equipment Maintenance Log indicating inspection observations, parts used to complete necessary repairs, test protocol and test results
  • Maintain spare parts and hardware inventory; submit purchase requisitions as needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping the repair area neat, tidy and free from obstructions, complying with all company, local, state and federal Health and Safety regulations

Qualifications:

Must Have:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of equipment repair experience in a technical capacity (electrical, mechanical, special effects, pyrotechnics); or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Good understanding of electronics and technical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and diagrams
  • Understanding of basic electricity and use of electrical testing equipment to diagnose problems
  • Understanding of show control – DMX
  • Self-motivated; equally comfortable working solo or as part of a small team
  • Able to prioritize a repair queue based on immediate needs
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Detail oriented
  • Logical thinker with demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Able to function effectively when time-constrained
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice to Have:

  • Strong soldering skills
  • Board-level troubleshooting and repair of electronic devices to component level
  • Comfort with propane and liquid fuel systems
  • Other demonstrated skills including sound woodworking, welding and metal fabrication are beneficial
  • Valid OSHA 10 certification
  • Valid Forklift certification
